Little Rock Jamboree
Little Rock Jamboree
100th anniversary jamboree - Bathurst Curling Club - March 6 to 8, 2009.
The Bathurst Curling Club is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2009,
and as part of our year-long celebrations we will be hosting a tournament
for curlers 13 years of age and under this January.
The tournament will take place from March 6 to 8, and will be open
to the first 30 teams to register.
The tournament will be broken down into three categories:
A division for those eight an under - games will be played on a half
sheet of ice.
A division for players 11 and under - games will be played on a full
shoot of ice.
A division for players 13 and under - each team in this division is
allowed one 14 year old on their team.
Teams can be all male, all female or mixed, and ages are based on
the curlers age as of Dec. 31, 2008. Should there not be a minimum
of four teams in each category, the curlers in that age group will
move up to play in the next age group.
Each team will be guaranteed three, four-end games during the weekend
and the emphasis will be on friendly competition amongst the participants.
Depending on the number of teams who sign up, we may have a draw on
Friday evening, beginning at 5 p.m.. Each team will then have two games
on Saturday and one on Sunday (curling should be finished by 4:30 p.m.).
Where possible, teams closest to Bathurst will play in the first draw on
Friday
and last draw on Sunday.
The cost to play is $80 per team, and provincial competition cards
are not necessary for this event. (Teams who choose to bring a spare, will
need to pay an additional $20 to cover the cost of meals and
prizes.) The weekend will include a meal for all participants on Saturday,
medals for all and (we hope) each curler will receive a t-shirt.
The deadline to register is Feb. 27 at 5 p.m. Registration forms,
including check made payable to the Bathurst Curling Club, can be
sent to:
Little Rock Jamboree
C/O Peter Assaff
1166 Stacey Mill Crescent
Bathurst, NB E2A 4W9.
For more information please contact Tanya Duguay at 546-1301.
We look forward to seeing you on the ice as part of our 100th
anniversary celebrations!
